Admissions
A place is offered to those who read with care.
Admission to Lex Meridian is by submission and interview. The process is small, deliberate, and unconcerned with prior pedigree.

The process
Four steps. No more.

Written submission
A short letter (no more than 800 words), in your own hand or composition, addressed to the principal — outlining your reading, your intention, and the program of interest.

Reading list
Three short texts are circulated. They are read before interview; no prior knowledge of law is required, only attention.

Interview
One hour, in person at the academy, with two members of faculty. Half discussion of the reading, half a candid conversation about why.

Offer
Issued within ten working days. Successful applicants secure their place with a deposit and a signed undertaking of attendance.
The academic year
Three terms in residence.
Michaelmas
Oct — Dec
Opening term. Foundations laid; first papers set.
Hilary
Jan — Mar
Long-form work, substantial seminars, mid-year orals.
Trinity
Apr — Jun
Final examinations and the closing dinner.
Tuition
A single program of two terms is offered at £12,400. Sequential enrolment in two programs in the same academic year is offered at £22,000. Tuition includes seminar materials, examination fees, and the closing dinner.
Deposits are non-refundable after the seventh day. A payment plan in three instalments is offered as a matter of course.
Bursaries
The academy holds four full bursaries each year for exceptional applicants who could not otherwise attend. A further eight partial bursaries are offered at the principal's discretion.
Bursary applications are considered after a place has been offered. No applicant is admitted, or rejected, on the basis of their means.
