Who is Lex Meridian designed for?

Students seriously contemplating a career at the bar, in solicitor practice, or in policy work where rigorous legal training is required. Some prior reading is helpful but not mandatory.

Do I need a law degree to enrol?

No. We admit graduates of any discipline, alongside conversion students and practitioners returning to study. Admission is by interview and a short written submission.

How long are the programs?

Each of our three programs runs across two terms — approximately twenty-four weeks — culminating in written and oral examination.

Are seminars held in person?

Yes. We do not record or stream our seminars. Attendance in residence is part of the discipline of the academy.

What is the tuition?

Tuition is published in our prospectus and varies by program. We hold a limited number of bursaries each year for exceptional applicants who could not otherwise attend.

Who teaches at Lex Meridian?

Our faculty are sitting barristers, solicitors and silks. Every tutor has appeared in court within the present term — without exception.

Are your qualifications recognised by the bar?

Our programs are designed in alignment with bar standards. They complement, rather than replace, the formal qualifying routes (SQE / bar course), and our alumni regularly proceed to both.

When does the next intake begin?

Michaelmas Term begins in early October. Applications open in spring. A small number of late applications are considered each summer where places remain.
